The Niner: Ready for football season

It’s the day after the Major League Baseball All-Star game. There are zero sporting events to mention going on today. All this does is fuel my desire to get the pigskin out and start playing a little game called football!  That’s right boys and girls, we are in the short rows. So I give you….

The Nine Reasons I’m Ready for Football Season To Start

9 – Brett Favre – This soap opera has got to end. It’s starting to get embarrassing for the game… of baseball. The state of baseball is in bad shape when baseball purists realize it’s more interesting to talk about a football player thinking about coming back than your sport, in season

8 – 4:50 minute All-Star Game – What a grueling marathon

7 – NFL First Round Draft Picks - To date, three draft picks have signed. It will take another month for guys who won’t make a direct impact on their teams to get their million dollar contracts worked out. Nothing makes a vet more frustrated than to know he will lose his job when a rookie signs for more than he’s worth, but has to play because he got guaranteed money

6 – Tailgating at soccer games bites – Tailgating has become more popular than the game itself. But it doesn’t work without football

5 – Roger Clemens News – It’s been nauseating.

4 – NBA Officials – Give me a sport where the guys call it fair…  I HOPE!!

3 – Let the Trash Talking Begin - Enough said

2 – Tigerless PGA Tour - Without Tiger at the majors, I have lost a reason to watch
