Raleigh, N.C. — Firefighters were called out to a two-alarm fire at an apartment complex off Buck Jones Road late Saturday.
Crews said they faced heavy fire conditions when they arrived at 434 Westcliffe Court shortly after 10:30 p.m. The fire originated in a two-story, 6,000-square-foot building with garden apartments.
One person was in the apartment when the fire broke out but managed to escape unharmed, Battalion Chief S.A. Richards said.
Five people who lived in the apartment are staying with relatives in the same complex, Richards said.
The fire's cause was found to be electrical, officials said. The fire started in a downstairs storage area. One apartment and storage unit were damaged in the blaze.
