Alleged 'Get Money Clique' gang members charged

Troy Edward Jenkins

Cumberland County deputies charged two alleged members of the Get Money Clique street gang in a home break-in on Thursday.

A witness reported seeing two young men trying to get into a home at 1327 Ainsley Drive in the Legion Hills subdivision around 12:30 p.m.

Deputies arrived to see the alleged burglars – identified as Troy Edward Jenkins, 18, of 2919 Peacock St. in Hope Mills, and Devon Lee Harrison, 16, of 205 Tarpin Court in Fayetteville – jumping a fence and fleeing the scene.

The two carried away a large-screen plasma television and a purse, detectives said.

Deputies chased Jenkins and Harrison and caught them in a wooded area behind the subdivision. They also recovered the stolen goods, deputies said.

Jenkins and Harrison face charges of breaking and entering and larceny after breaking and entering.

They were being held in the Cumberland County Detention Center Thursday evening, and their bond had not yet been set.

Harrison was given a year's probation in late February on charges of receiving goods stemming from a Nov. 4, 2007, incident, according to Department of Correction records.

Detectives said both Harrison and Jenkins are members of GMC, a local gang that has been around since about 2001. There are about 40 known members of the gang, which was once known as Pimp Squad.
