Site SearchFayetteville, N.C. — A jury on Thursday found a New York City man guilty of the 2005 slayings of a Fort Bragg soldier and a teenage girl in a Cumberland County home.
James Stitt, 22, was convicted of first-degree murder in the death of Jenna Bologna, 16, and second-degree murder in the death of George Katsigiannis, 21. He also was convicted of robbery in the case.
Jurors will consider sentencing Stitt to death or life in prison without parole in Bologna's death.
The West Palm Beach, Fla., teen and Katsigiannis, a member of the Army's 3rd Special Forces Group stationed at Fort Bragg, were shot to death in February 2005 inside the home they shared with Stitt.
Stitt was arrested a few days later in Brooklyn, N.Y. Authorities said he had taken Katsigiannis' car.
