Durham, N.C. — A Jordan High senior claimed first place in a competition held by the National Junior Science and Humanities Symposium in Orlando, Fla.
Shivani Sud's research paper, “Genomic Strategy to Refine Prognosis and Treatment of Early Colon Cancer,” earned her a $19,000 scholarship and an all-expenses-paid trip to London where she will present her paper in July.
More than 300 students from all 50 states entered the competition.
