Vote for your favorite N.C. festival!

You blogged about and emailed me your favorite festivals across North Carolina. The nominating process in our fourth Best of Carolina series is complete.

Various local festivals receiving multiple nominations made the cut. I am sorry about many of the fine festivals that didn't make the final list but we had to have a limit. So, here we go. We'll will keep the voting going until Friday morning at 9:00.

What is the best local festival in North Carolina?

Vote for your favorite HERE!

Historic Downtown Oxford appreciates the outpouring of support for The NC Hot Sauce Contest and invite all to visit our beautiful town and share in our festival this Saturday from 11-3!!! www.nchotsaucecontest.com

LEXINGTON BAR B Q FESTIVAL, GREAT AND HAD GROWN SO MUCH OVER THE PAST 22 YEARS

The NC hot sauce day in Oxford

The Valley Fair in Valle Crucis each October.

What! No Hillsborough Hog Day?

BILL---Our favorite festival in N.C. isn't. It is in South Carolina, at North Myrtle (Ocean Drive, Bill) twice each year since 1980. But since it intimately involves 10,000 or so North Carolina folks each time, who keave here and go there to do it for ten days each time, I think it SHOULD count for both states. It is, of course, SOS, the reunions of the Society of Stranders. Shaggers heaven. The others are just....others. No comparison, Bill.

The Boll Weevil Festival in Marshville...just because my nephew won several years ago as Mr Weevil or Co on Dog Days in Saluda which is an experience no one should miss. You feel like you're in a prison escape movie being chased by the aforementioned animals.
