Got Any Good Summer Reads About Animals?

Dear Miss Fifi:

My mom and I are both big readers, and always have one book that we read together before bedtime. She likes to choose books with a "good message"—whatever that means. Anyway, a couple years ago we read The Tiger Rising by Kate DiCamillo and really enjoyed it. Do you have any suggestions for this summer?

Miss Fifi loves a smart little reader ... particularly one who loves books about animals. And you should also know that at 10, you have a lifetime of "good messages" to get from your parents, so just take a deep breath and smile. Now, back to the question at hand.
