For those about to rock we salute you!

I thought we could rank our top five bass players in rock.

Mine are.

5. John Paul Jones/Led Zeppelin

4. Steve Harris/ Iron Maiden

3. John Entwistle/The Who

2. Billy Sheehan/Mr. Big, David Lee Roth Band, Steve Vai band, UFO.

1. Geddy Lee/Rush

Private Pyle, I know you had a great time at the show! I heard Dennis De Young on 96rock last week and his voice sounded great.

I'm still in shock over Rick Wright's death...had no idea he had health problems. I consider myself VERY fortunate to have seen Pink Floyd twice, once at Wimbley Stadium in London back in 1987. RIP Rick!

Went to the Rock n Roll HOF benefit this weekend (only went Sat even though I had tickets for Fri as well). Connells and Arrogance were good. Jack Bruce was good as well with this run through of several Cream staples. I also enjoyed Buck Dharma and his Blue Oyster Cult numbers especially "Godzilla". Why oh why Joe Lyn Turner was representing Deep Purple was beyond me. He could've represented Rainbow, but of course no one would've known their songs. All in all it was good, but since the concert ran long (till midnight) the very special guest, supposedly Pete Townshend, was not able to perform. Dennis DeYoung from STYX was awesome; he sounds exactly the same as twenty years ago.

RIP Rick Wright. I'm going to have to listen to a little Meddle tonight.

I do. They take me back to great moments in time especially in college. Of course there is always a woman involved.

Private Pyle, I believe you love the Connells as much as I love cold beer!! LOL

I went to the Journey/Heart/Cheap Trick show...It was really good. The new singer for Journey sounded almost 100% like Steve Perry!

My next show is next week...Three Doors Down, I've seen them twice and there really good live.

We were waiting on you! We live vicariously through your posts. Got my tickets for the Sat portion of the H of F concert at Koka Booth. Jack Bruce is going to be there...I'm stoked. Well, I'm just stoked to see the Connells.

Where is everybody at?

I was promoted this week...I have to figure out how to access the group since my original profile is gone! LOL

Hello my fellow junkies!!

I hope all is well in rock n' roll land!

Private Pyle I know you had a blast at downtown live...I'm looking foward to the Puddle of Mudd show in a couple of weeks.

Bye the way, has anybody heard of the new band Chickenfoot? Sammy Haggar, Micheal Anthony, Joe "funking" Satriani, and the drummer from The Red Hot Chilli Peppers!!!! They go in the studio in September to record, and already have written 10-12 songs. I can't wait for this one!!!!

My favorite bass players are- Flea, Les Claypool, Krist Novoselic (Nirvana) and Dimebag Darrell

Anyone go to Downtown Live this weekend?...okay, I did. Got there around 6:15. Saw the Balsa Gliders; okay, not great, but they at least explained what ALL their songs were about. The Connells rocked out as usual. The Old 97s were okay; they sound a lot like Driving and Crying or at least I thought. The best part of the night was the dancing cowboy near the front of the stage. My friend took video of him with his phone so hopefully it will be on YouTube soon.
