voter fraud - no big deal to some goloers-check this out!

About 200K Ohio voters have records discrepancies

By TERRY KINNEY
Associated Press Writer CINCINNATI (AP) - Close to one in every three newly registered Ohio voters will end up on court-ordered lists being sent to county election boards because they have some discrepancy in their records, an elections spokesman said Wednesday.

Secretary of State Jennifer Brunner estimated that an initial review found that about 200,000 newly registered voters reported information that did not match motor-vehicle or Social Security records, Brunner spokesman Kevin Kidder said. Some discrepancies could be as simple as a misspelling, while others could be more significant.

The 6th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in Cincinnati sided with the Ohio Republican Party on Tuesday and ordered Brunner to set up a system that provides those names to county elections boards. The GOP contends the information will help prevent fraud.

"Things already are in motion to comply," Kidder said. "We're working to establish these processes on how we can make this work. The computer work actually began last week."

About 666,000 Ohioans have registered to vote since January.

Brunner previously cross-checked new-voter registrations with databases run by the Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicle and the Social Security Administration and made the results available online, but the 6th Circuit said the information was not accessible in a way that would help county election boards ferret out mismatches.

Brunner, a Democrat, told The (Cleveland) Plain Dealer on Wednesday that she is concerned the court decision is a veiled attempt at disenfranchising voters. Brunner said she'll urge counties not to force these people to use provisional ballots.

The court gave Brunner until Friday to get election boards the information but it was unclear whether that deadline would be met. The court set no penalty for missing the deadline.

County election officials were trying to determine Wednesday how they will respond once they get the information.

"I'm very concerned with these new requirements as we get closer to Election Day," said Steve Harsman, director of the Montgomery County Board of Elections in Dayton. He said his staff already is working 16 hours a day, seven days a week.

"It's clearly going to have an impact in regard to resources we have to expend to resolve discrepancies," said Jeff Hastings, chairman of the Cuyahoga County Board of Elections in Cleveland.

"We've had about 100,000 (registrations) since January and of those about 34,000 since the primary. We will do whatever is required of us."

Also Wednesday, the Ohio Republican Party said it has filed public records requests with all 88 counties for copies of forms submitted by newly registered voters, especially those who registered and cast an absentee ballot on the same day during a one-week window earlier this month.

Brunner has said that 13,141 Ohioans registered and voted immediately during the window.

"We've seen reports of fraudulent registrations, and we want to see those forms first-hand," said Jason Mauk, the state GOP's executive director.

oala, I'm not sure that the RNC will fight this...they may, but I don't think they will.

Obama's camp has already sent attorneys to Ohio and Florida. He is prepared to fight for those mismatched voter registrations. This will be so much worse than the 2004 elections!

Would a thinking person not imagine that if there are more Republicans in America, it would be to THEIR benefit to register all the voters that they could?? I do believe that this election is over before it starts. Obama looked so much more Presidential than did John McCain tonight that it was not even close. To me, a vet whom respects John McCain to the high heavens, he came across as a bitter old man who is grasping for straws. As bad as I do not want to see Obama as our next President, I think unless something happens to him, he is it.

"Thank God to allow those fake registrations go through is the end of our democracy voting."

Our voting isn't a democracy anyway. The Electoral College decides, and the delegates to that, depending upon the laws of the state they represent, may

1)-Prorate the vote the way popular vote was represented in their state; or

2)-Vote the entire delegation from their state the way the majority of popular vote was represented in their state; or

3)-Vote any dang way they choose.

See, the laws governing how they vote are different from state to state, so in the end, popular vote does not elect any president of the United States.

The Electoral College was adopted during a time when it took 4-6 weeks to get mail from one side of the country to another. But with the advent of computers, that no longer applies, but politicians don't want to give up the "sure bet" of the Electoral College which allows THEM to control OUR vote.

Long jail terms for those involved.

Can you imagine how many Absentee voters ACORN is trying to get???

I imagine if you weed out the ones in the graveyards and the one with fictitious names, then you would have very little left!!!

The voter fraud this year will be rampant...of that I am sure! ACORN only registers/pays people to vote for the one candidate and that in itself points to a busted system. Any agency worth a flip would be registering people of all parties to vote....not just to get a vote result that they want!!

The commission of voting said last night that this little town in Ohio they had looked at 5,000 registration from acorn the first 2100 were instant fraud recognized. They got disgusted and put the rest of them down and went to some good registration so they could get them all examined. They'd have to go back to check the others later if they had time. That's sad. ?They are trying to hold up the elections looks like to me. I heard acorn hired drug dealers, felons, just out of jail drunks, just anyone who would go out and get as many names as they could. 'What were they thinking.

Thank God to allow those fake registrations go through is the end of our democracy voting. I don't c are if Obama claims he didn't know about it. He lied three times tonight in the debate so should I trust he didn't try to let them folks get away with this as well.

Until the simple misspellings and transposed social security numbers are weeded out of the figure, that 200,000 means nothing. I do think somebody needs to take a stick to the administration of ACORN though.
