the military vote
Published Oct. 6, 2008The Army Times posted the results of a military wide poll on the vote today. All branches, all ranks, all genders and all races. The results Army 68% McCain 23% Obama, Navy 69% McCain 24% Obama, Air Force 67% McCain 24% Obama, Marine Corps 75% McCain 18% Obama. I hope this clears up any past debates on who the military supports. We know who takes care of us and who doesnt. We know who will fight to win, and who will run. I noticed this year that our officers and seinior non commisioned officers are really pushing for us to vote, they even set up sites to register, something I have never seen before. We know better than most what is at stake, it's like my Sergeant Major said today, our JOB is to fight and win Americas wars. Thats what we do, anyone that is here for any other reason needs to find another place to work. Al Gore even deserves a little credit here, I was in Korea when he was running back in 2000, he stated that the overseas military vote shouldnt count. So the next time WRAL or any other news agency puts out a story about folks in the military against the war, take it with a grain of salt, there are whiners in the ranks, there always will be, and the news media loves to seek these guys out and make it sound like it's the military in general that thinks the same way. This is not the case. You can go to www.armytimes.com to see more statistics on this.

However, I understood that it was my dad's profession and choice. When they needed him to go to war, he said "Yes Sir" and went. The military is for one thing, to kill people and break things; not to go to college etc. I wish the politicians would leave them alone and let them do their job. I am not impying that the civilians should not be in charge, but that when the send the military in, let the Generals call the shots, not some jacklegged knucklehead in DC.

The world is full of despots and evil men. They do not reason with wimps. Their goal is to destroy and nothing else. You can't sit down and talk them out of it, because they will just lie to you and continue on. Only a strong leader willing to bring down the hammer will keep them in place.

But it's not 100%...what's to explain the 23% in the Army, the 24% in the Navy, the 24% in the Air Force, and the 18% in the Marine Corps?
Just curious.
