I swear I think if an ant farted it would be an excuse to raise gas prices? *rolls eyes* This was a sign at my local gas station today...................

I noticed that same sign this morning. I was completely on E. I thought about it for a second and put in 16.4 gallons. Since they said that they "ask", I figured it was voluntary.

Congress could control this if they truly wanted to....but NOT!! It is not the President who puts us in these binds, but the Congressmen and women that we keep electing. We need a total house cleaning in CONGRESS!! They control the purse strings of this nation and will bankrupt the American consumer every way they can!!

On the good side, a barrel of oil is now just over a $100 a barrel on the world market, but here, in the SE, there is a distribution problem about to occur.

Well call me stupid then! If you are so blind to the fact the oil companies have Washington in their back pockets then maybe it's you that have the problem? :)

Another reason for the local anticipation of a shortage is that everyone with forethought has filled up their tanks, and if the average car now has 10 gallons more, imagine the number of tanks that is multiplied by and the amount of gas now stored in cars.

A third of the refinery, and most of the supply to the SE US comes from Texas, LA where IKE is closing down plants. Hence, a shortage just like after Katrina. let's hope it is only a day or so.
