my great-gran's sour cream pound cake

Good afternoon GOLO:
I got a bit of the baking bug this afternoon and decided to pull out one of my great-grandmother's recipes which was handed down to me from my grandmother.
I can remember eating this cake when I spent the night at her and my great-grandfather's house when I was about 8 or 9.
It's in the oven now with an hour to go, so I don't know if it will live up to her standards. I hope it comes close.
I am going to post it just as she wrote it. My great-grandmother Louise Jackson died in 1989. I talk to my grandmother, her daughter almost every day.
Great-Gran's Sour Cream Pound Cake
- 3C Flour
- 3C Sugar
- 2 sticks butter
- 6 eggs
- 8 oz. sour cream
- 1/4 tsp. baking soda
- 2 tsp flavor (vanilla & lemon)
Cream sugar and butter. Add one egg at a time until all six have been creamed. Mix 1C flour and 1/3 of sour cream. Add 2nd cup of flour and more sour cream. Add 3rd cup of flour and last of sour cream. Then add baking soda and flavor.
Bake 1.5 hours at 325 degrees.
Topping:
1 C Confectioner's Sugar
2 tbsp Milk
Mix, and drizzle on top of cake.
I'll tell you what GOLO'ers...when my grandmother makes this cake it melts in your mouth. It is her signature cake, along with her 7-up pound cake.
I've only made it twice, so maybe the third time is the charm.
