webkinz!!

Are your children addicted to Webkinz?  Are you addicted to Webkinz? My daughters love it and I will admit I get on there sometimes and play too...

 

I think both of my girls have four each...

my daughters are 7 and 8 and they both have about 12 each. I was hesitate at first.. but they are educational, teach responsibility.. but like anything else should be done in moderation. They earn WEBKINZ time by finishing their chores, homework, etc. A great learning tool. SOme teachers let kids use them as rewards at our school. My Mom and I love the typing game...My husband enjoys them also.

WillowsWalk - I'm with you. I held them off for a long time and then finally figured "no harm done". It's not THAT bad but kids really get addicted and it is sort of a constant battle to limit their time on it.

In WebKinz defense it is a very safe online environment for kids. They CAN communicate with each other but they can only select their verbiage from drop-down lists of pre-made , benign, generic comments so there's no way for them to share personal information of any kind.

OH my goodness do my girls LOVE them!!!!! My oldest daughter has 13 and the youngest daughter has I think 8 or 9. My son has 2, but theyhaven't been put online yet. My oldest is begging for more! The games are really fun on there too!! I like the Cash Cow games to earn Kinz Cash. My dad will even go on there from his house to help the girls get more Kinz Cash.

I dont allow my children to have them they play only educational games on the computer. my neighbors little girl got one and BOY is the mom mad as heck cause all her daughter wants to do is webkinz

My daughter has a bunch. She's 13 now, so she doesn't play on line with them much. She did want me to give her real money so she could buy virtual stuff! I didn't fall for that one, though I did buy into the whole Webkinz racket. At least it's better than "Beanie Babies"!

no, but i used to work at a retail store in wf and everybody and their mama used to ask if we carried them-btw, the answer is no!!! (at least not when i worked there)

My daughter would be on there every day if I let her. She has managed to collect almost 20 over the last 2 years. It's a cute concept and the fact that they can play with their friends if they know their screen name is cool too.
