duel at diablo

Another one of those old "classic cowboys & indians", movies from the 60's...but this is not your usual flick. With James Garner and Sidney Poitier and several others, it has Star power. The soundtrack is not your usual c & w tunes either, but...once heard, it sticks with you for a while.
I remember first seeing Duel at Diablo as a kid back in the sixties and from then on, whenever TV Guide let me know it was going to be re-broadcast, I'd beg, cajole and throw a tantrum (sometimes that was counterproductive), to be allowed to sit up late and watch it again. Of course of broadcast tv, parts were deleted in order not to run afoul of the network censors. But on DVD, you can enjoy(?) all the carnage, mayhem and even a bar-be-que...where the roasting meat screams...and screams...and screams into the night. Bad night for that cowboy. But overall , this is on my All Tyme Favorite movie list, of any genre.
Search long and hard for this one, for a a ride back into old time western movie making.Once you've seen it, you'll probably keep it around for a long time and share with friends and family that haven't been able to experience it. Can't recall the last time it was on broadcast tv or cable, but they really ought to dust this one off and start it back into rotation. Pardon me now while I pile into my well worn recliner and drift back into western nirvana. Filmed in southern Utah in 1966, it is worth watching just for the desert scenery....which includes Bibi Anderson. ;) Sigh.
