alvin and the chipmunks
Published Dec. 24, 2007This movie was adorable. If you have young children who have yet to be introduced to the chipmunk tunes, you have to take them to see this movie.
I've been a fan for a long time and listening to Alvin, Simon and Theodore croon their classic "Christmas Cheer" tune, took me way back.
But their style has been updated, and these guys definitely have a new sound. It fits right in with today's popular music with upbeat tempos and lots of bass.
The humans don't disappoint either.
Jason Lee did a terrific job as the caring patriarch, Dave. He was very believeable and it was hard to imagine that there may not have been actual chipmunks in the scenes with him. And David Cross was pretty funny as the conniving record label executive, Ian.
All in all, it's a good movie. See it for what it is and have fun.
You'll end up looking for the songs on itunes when you get home.
Trust me.
