Costner winner announced

Congratulations to Marsha Hester, of Pittsboro, the winner of two tickets to see Kevin Costner and Modern West!

Kevin Costner and Modern West will perform at the Durham Bulls Athletic Park on July 4. The show starts at 7:05 p.m.

Modern West’s set list drifts from original material (rock songs with an Americana vibe) to cover songs, according to Costner’s Web site..

The history of Modern West dates back more than 20 years when Costner met singer-songwriter John Coinman at an acting workshop. Costner was an actor interested in music and Coinman was a musician interested in acting. Along with friend Blair Forward, the three formed the band Roving Boy.

As Costner’s acting career took off in films such as “Bull Durham,” the band continued to play shows and record. In 2005 the three Roving Boys joined with guitarist/producer Teddy Morgan and drummer Larry Cobb to form Modern West.

Kevin Costner a player and has a bad attitude.

Who cares if he can sing or not!!!...he is one good looking man!!

Well, man Don Johnson "sang." Remember "Lookin' for a Heartbeat. Lookin' for a heartbeat.?" It sounded like he herniated his vocal chords while he was singing. I don't hold out much hope.

He sings? Who would have thunk it.
