Durham, N.C. — Slate Pharmaceuticals, a startup focused on implantable hormones, has closed on nearly $5 million in funding, The News & Observer in Raleigh reported Wednesday.
Slate, which launched in 2007, also has an office in the United Kingdom.
The firm already markets Testopel, an implantable testosterone pellet.
Slate also is testing a menopausal hormone treatment.
