Raleigh-based International IT Services merges with California firm to form new company

International IT Services, a Raleigh-based provider of outsourcing, development and technical services, is merging with Ndex, a California company.

The combined venture, known as Somosoft, features 200 employees. It will operate offices in Raleigh, Irvine, Calif., Europe, Australia and South Korea.

Financial terms were not disclosed.

The new venture will provide a variety of IT services utilizing a labor force located primarily in Vietnam.

Michael Lee, founder of International IT, will lead Somosoft as chief executive officer.

“The combined technical and management expertise may be the most obvious benefit of this merger, but I think the most important thing we offer our clients is the ability to bridge that gap between them and the talented resources in Vietnam,” Lee said in a statement.

“Our Western-trained management teams have extensive careers in IT and understand the business principles that our clients value. They also understand the culture, language and principles of our Vietnam-based counterparts. That unique combination sets Somosoft apart from many other outsourcing partners.”

Tim Bui, who had led Ndex, will be president of Somosoft. The company will be based in Raleigh.
