GREENSBORO, N.C. — The Burlington-Alamance Airport could be the site where jet engines will be built for Honda aircraft, the Greensboro News & Record reported today.
Honda Jet already has picked the Piedmont Triad International Airport for its main production facility.
Cary Allred, a Republican and state Representative from Burlington, told the newspaper about the pending plant deal for jet engine production.
According to Allred, the Burlington-Alamance Airport Authority has plans to borrow $11 million in order to buy and develop more than 100 acres of land for the project.
Airport officials and Honda aren’t talking about the project.
