Raleigh, N.C. — Mark Sirgo, chief executive officer at BioDelivery Sciences International (Nasdaq: BDSI), is joining the board of directors at Salix Pharmaceuticals (Nasdaq: SLXP).
Sirgo is a graduate of Ohio State University with a degree in pharmacy. He earned a doctorate at the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy and Science. He has more than 25 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry.
BDSI, which is based in the Triangle, is developing breakthrough pain treatments.
Salix, which is based in Raleigh, develops and sells a variety of gastrointestinal diseases.
